Upon first hearing this song, I was amazed at the number of intelligent references in it. First, the whole Icarus metaphor carrying through the song, and then the reference to gravity's force. combine that with the amazing bridge, and I feel that this is one of the best. and "daylight" makes me cry. _________________ And though the last lights off the black West went

Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings. |

Great observation... I never kept up with Greek mythology so I didn't realize the link. I think this is a good example of how well thought out the songs are, in addition to the great sound and composition, the substance is deep yet simplistic. lol, does that make sense?
I have to agree this is one of the best, when I listen to it my mind is always filled with the imagery, and can relate to it so well. |

I feel dumb now. I mentioned Roper's poetry book in another post, so I had to go pick it up again (it had been a while), and I noticed that I Fell Away is in there, but it's called Icarus  |
